The Best Western Red
Arrow will once again serve as the headquarters for Rockies-Gold 2012.
While there are other good places to stay in Montrose, we hope you will give
priority consideration to staying at the Red Arrow. This hotel will fill up
quickly, but cancellations do happen. If they are fully booked when you call,
the Red Arrow will put you on a standby list that, as cancellations occur, you
will be moved up the list. Chances are very good that as we get closer to
September these rooms will open up. To be safe, by all means secure a
reservation at one of the alternate hotels. The Days Inn and Black Canyon are
excellent alternate choices, both located within easy walking distance of the
Red Arrow.
The parking area and bike wash are great
places to meet fellow riders; the morning breakfast and evening gatherings are
also great opportunities to meet others and plan the next days rides.
The Red Arrow is an outstanding facility, with a mix of
interior and exterior
corridors and with a large parking lot
area that will allow for some good "hanging" in the evenings.
Even if you are staying at one of the other hotels, we
hope that you will come by the Red Arrow frequently to meet more of your
forum friends.
Be sure and tell them
that you are with the
"Rockies-Gold" group
in order to get one of our rooms at our group rate listed below.
You must call to reserve one of our blocked rooms and cannot do it on-line.
Please make your
lodging reservations and then go to the
"registration"
page and register for Rockies-Gold 2011.

For those spouses who wish to attend but
who do not want to made a cross-country trip on the back of the bike to get to
Montrose, there are several options for flying-in -- check the flights to
Montrose. Montrose has a nice, small airport with several flights each day
via United Express and other "express" airlines. We received very good
feedback from those that flew directly into Montrose for previous gathering. Denver and Colorado Springs are also options, but
those are 4+ hours from Montrose, so that does complicate things somewhat.
