Frisco Lodging

The Holiday Inn Summit County in Frisco will be the Headquarters for Rockies-Gold 2010, providing a great facility for our gathering.  The Holiday Inn is currently undergoing a MAJOR renovation (pretty much down to the structural components of the facility), which is scheduled to be completed well before Rockies-Gold 2010.  The Holiday Inn has more than 200 rooms, so we are hoping that everyone will be able to stay at the same location.  WingNutZZ has arranged for special rates for our stay and all rooms (one King or two Queens [currently two doubles, but will be Queens after the renovation] will be at the same nightly price of $79 + taxes.  The facility has interior corridors, but a large parking lot out back will provide us with a great place for kicking tires and doing a little hanging-out.  WingNutZZ has blocked 150 rooms (updated to 180 rooms on 12/19/2009) -- blocked rooms will be held until 31 July 2010.

NOTE:  WingNutZZ will be following the renovation closely to ensure that all rooms for Rockies-Gold will be renovated with completely new furnishings.  The exterior, lobby, bar, restaurant, and pool area are also being renovated.

As of 17 January 2010, the Holiday Inn is completely booked for the 15-19 September event -- there are several rooms booked that period that are not listed as being Rockies-Gold, so I am thinking that some folks did not indicate or get listed as being with our group.  We will work through that issue in the future.  If anyone cancels their Rockies-Gold reservation please let me know.

Please scroll down to find information on our 2nd hotel, the Ramada Inn, which is located right next door to the Holiday Inn.

Rockies-Gold 2010 On-Line Lodging Reservations -- click here

bullet

NOTE:  The Reservations link is a little finicky at times, so if the page comes up and asks you to enter the location and rate, just exit the page and click the link again -- it should come up with the Summit County location and also have the Group Rate "RGN" listed.  Please ensure that this RGN rate code appears.  You should not have to fill-in the location as that comes up also.

bullet

The hotel will honor our $79 rate for additional nights before and after Wed-Sun.  The marketing staff will be ensuring that their front desk personnel are aware of this and should also be expanding the rate code dates in their computer system.  If you call (or use the web) and that rate code is not allow for the other nights, just go ahead and make the reservation.  Please do not hassle the reservation person if they do not have it as they may have not yet gotten the word!  We will then change it manually prior to the event.

Camping information.  Most of the camping in this area is either fairly rustic (national forest campground) or quite upscale.  If you wish to camp, you should probably do your own research for camping/campgrounds for Summit County, CO.  A couple of links that might be useful are:

For those spouses who wish to attend but who do not want to made a cross-country trip on the back of the bike to get to Frisco, the best option is probably to fly into Denver International Airport, located about 85 miles to the east.
