Hangin' At The Red Arrow -- Friday 6PM to ????

It was recommended that we have an organized social event so that as many members as possible could meet each other.  As a result, we will be having a "Hangin' at the Red Arrow" on Friday evening from 6PM until ??????????.  It is hoped that all Rockies-Gold attendees will be able to participate in this gathering at the Red Arrow.

Based upon the results of a poll of registered attendees in mid-January 2008, we will be keeping this event simple.  As a result there will be no organized drink or food for the "Hangin'".  We'll just be kicking the tires, looking and talking about Gold Wings, meeting folks from the forum, and telling some tales about our lives and our riding.

Let's start gathering at the Red Arrow at 6PM, after dinner at one of the many restaurants in Montrose.

bullet

Some are discussing a little "grilling" at the Red Arrow, so you might see some folks doing that.

bullet

Bring your own snacks and drinks, including any that you might like to share with others.

bullet

If you have any type of folding chair you might want to bring it to the Red Arrow also (inexpensive folding chairs can be purchased at Wal-Mart).

bullet

We will do a group photo of the attendees at approximately 7:00PM.

bullet

Entertainment:  It would be wonderful if we could have a little light music in the parking lot.  Everyone enjoyed Soloquest's performance at Cats-Cade, but he was riding so hard at Rockies-Gold in 2007 that we could only get him to do a couple of songs.  So..............

bullet

Can anyone play a little guitar and do a little singing, and be willing to do so at the Hangin'?  If so and they can't bring their guitar, I'm sure that we can rent one in Montrose for the evening.  Let us know!!!!

Hangin' Door Prizes

bullet

One bottle of South African wine'liquor (whichever he brings) thanks to Edwin Musto from South Africa.

bullet

One of the Rockies-Gold Banners (not the one signed by everyone) thanks to your contributions.

bullet

Thanks to Fred H. for providing a set of his GL1800 Maintenance DVD's -- the drawing will occur just prior to the airline ticket drawing.  We all are indebted to Fred H. for the help he gives to all of us.

bullet

Thanks to "jetdr" of the GL1800riders.com forum, we will have a drawing for a wonderful door prize at the Hangin' At The Red Arrow -- two standby round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines, to anywhere that they fly.  Following applies:
bullet

Drawing will be from the names of those who have registered for the Hangin'.

bullet

Jetdr and I will run the drawing, which will be conducted at 8:30PM.

bullet

YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN -- if we call your name and you are not there to claim the prize, we will draw another name.

bullet

If you win the tickets, jetdr will provide you with information on using the tickets; jetdr provided this additional information:
bullet

No restrictions on the dates you choose to fly.

bullet

No black-out dates, but some days are better days to fly than others (ie, more open seats on some days than others; Sundays and Fridays are usually tough days).

bullet

You do not call the Southwest Reservation number -- there is a number on the back of the ticket that you call and LIST yourself for Space Available on a particular flight.

bullet

Tickets will expire in April 2009.

Many thanks to jetdr!!!!
